AMC to air KISS documentary “4th and Loud” in August

Fans of KISS and Arena Football are sure to be excited about this new series.

Today, AMC announced that they will air a docu-series called 4th and Loud, which follows KISS band members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, owners of the Los Angeles KISS, an expansion football team in the Arena Football League.

The news of the series comes as no surprise to Arena Football fans; AMC green-lit production of the series back in February. Today, AMC formally announced the show’s premiere date:

4th and LoudNEW YORK, NY  – AMC today announced that its docu-series “4th and Loud,” which follows the inaugural season of the LA KISS Arena Football League team, will premiere on Tuesday, August 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-episode (60-minute) series will follow team owners Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, of KISS fame, along with additional owners, long-time KISS manager, Doc McGhee, managing partner/owner, Brett Bouchy, and president/owner, Schuyler Hoversten, as they and the dedicated players and coaches work to turn LA’s first professional football team in years into a winning franchise.

“4th and Loud” is produced by Thinkfactory Media (Gene Simmons Family JewelsHatfields & McCoys), with Adam Freeman, Adam Reed, Chris Gillen, Erin Kelly and Leslie Greif serving as executive producers.

At the time of this article, the LA KISS are 3-10 and are (miraculously) in position to clinch a playoff berth, holding a tiebreaker over the Portland Thunder (3-10) and a 2 game lead over the San Antonio Talons (1-13).

But winning isn’t everything; the LA KISS have pressed all the right buttons to bring exposure to their team and the league, complete with wild uniforms, Go-Go Dancers that dance above the field during games, and a silver colored football field.

It’s worth pointing out that it is amusing to see former starting QB J.J. Raterink on the poster, especially since he was traded back in May for QB Aaron Garcia.

Are you looking forward to the docu-series? Will it help promote the struggling Arena Football League? Post your thoughts in the comments below.
